The first physical release from Tallahassee's’ Seattle Fucking Supersonics entitled Fourtwentyfourseven sounds like the pot smoke exhaled from Pauly Shore’s lungs post Bio-Dome production manifested itself into four sentient life forms with a lust for defunct sports team franchises, classic pop punk and dabbing. These resin humanoids were born with an inherent ability to shred and write catchy tunes that are reminiscent of the Dopamines and at times the early days of Alkaline Trio. My favorite track on the album “Shittiness” possesses the same sarcastic delivery of self loathing that made the latter band so appealing. Comparisons to other bands aside, The Seattle Fucking Supersonics rip in their own right, like a triple chamber Sheldon Black piece perfectly packed with the dankest of nugs. Fourtwentyfourseven is a solid pop punk record from start to finish. I’m a fairly critical asshole and I couldn’t find one bad seed in the bud. This record probably isn’t going to bring you to a plain of higher consciousness but it will allow you to forget how shitty your boring life is for fifteen minutes.
